New Traditions is a folk music radio show celebrating folk & traditional music from around the world, it includes sub genres such as neo folk, indie folk, punk folk and whatever else comes along! The definition of traditional folk music varies but it generally refers to music handed down via the oral tradition and sung & performed through the generations. Folk revival music cropped up in the 1960s and has continued through a variety of artists cross pollinating genres such as pure pop, rock, reggae and the like. New Traditions holds no purist aspirations, good music will always be good music and it's good to test the boundaries and break the rules sometimes, the point is to celebrate the music, enjoy the music and disseminate to as wide an audience as possible.
With all this in mind I'll be bringing you artist interviews, album & gig reviews and more great music than you can shake a reasonably sized stick at.
